An airman assigned to the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, died Sunday in Schwedelbach, according to a wing release.

The airman’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to the airman’s family, friends and co-workers,” Brig. Gen. Patrick X. Mordente, 86th Airlift Wing commander, was quoted in the release. “Each airman is a valuable member of Team Ramstein, and we deeply grieve for the loss of our wingman.”

Other details about the death were unavailable Monday.
