A 32-year-old Schofield Barracks soldier was arrested Tuesday for allegedly taking a purse from a woman in Honolulu on New Year's Eve.
The incident occurred just before midnight when the male suspect allegedly confronted the 29-year-old woman as she sat in her car in the city's Pearl City area, according to a police report.
Police said the suspect used force to take the purse. The victim was injured while fighting back, and the suspect fled with her purse, they said.
The Army soldier faces charges of second-degree robbery and unauthorized entry into a vehicle.
