Lockheed-Northrop venture lands $93M deal from Army
Longbow LLC, an Orlando, Fla.-based joint venture of Lockheed Martin Corp. and Northrop Grumman Corp., has received a $93 million Army deal to provide logistics support for weapons systems of the Longbow Apache helicopter fleet.
Terms call for Longbow LLC to support the Apache's fire-control radar systems, unmanned aerial data controls and upgraded radar electronics. The work will be performed through 2016.
It was the second military helicopter contract in about two months for Lockheed Martin's Orlando missiles group. It won a $34 million Navy deal in late August to produce weapons-targeting systems for AH-1Z Cobra choppers. About 200 jobs are tied to Lockheed's Longbow and Cobra work.
