The (Tacoma, Wash.) News Tribune
A $15,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the identification of human remains found on a Joint Base Lewis-McChord training area.
A woman’s skull was found Oct. 13, 2010, near Spanaway McKenna Highway and Pacific Avenue South in training area 9. Officers with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command searched the area after the remains were discovered and found two vertebrae. The rest of the victim’s remains have not been recovered.
Investigators do not know how the woman died or who she was.
She is believed to be 25 to 40 years old and had a defect on a front tooth of her lower jaw. It’s possible the victim was of mixed ancestry. A medical examiner estimates the woman died between April and June 2010.
