Catholic teenagers from U.S. military bases across Europe will gather in the German village of Schönstatt, near Koblenz, this weekend for Inspire(d), a three-day conference hosted by youth ministry Life Teen in conjunction with the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.
Some 140 teens and chaperones are expected to attend, according to an AMS news release. The weekend’s agenda includes group discussions, training, celebration, prayer and an address by Archbishop Timothy Broglio, all aimed at providing teens with the motivation and skills to contribute to the faith-based communities on their respective military installations.
“In military settings the theme is appropriate as young Catholics are continually inspired by the word of God and the challenging sacrifices that military families make every day,” Mark Moitoza, AMS vice chancellor for evangelization, said in the release.
The AMS endorses priests at more than 220 U.S. military installations in 29 countries and 153 Veterans Administration medical centers throughout the U.S., according to its website.
