A Robins Air Force Base airman is facing murder charges in connection with the shooting death of a woman and her unborn child, Macon.com is reporting.

Charlie Amos Wilson III, 26, has been charged with one count of murder and one count of feticide in the killing of Tameda Ferguson, 30 and her unborn child, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a news release. Wilson was arrested Sept. 3 by Tift County deputies.

Ferguson's body was found Aug. 29 at her home in Dawson, Ga., according to the GBI. She was apparently 8½ months pregnant and had an ongoing relationship with Wilson, Macon.com reported. It's unclear whether the baby was Wilson's.

The website reported Friday that Wilson remained on active duty while the GBI investigates. It said a news release from Robins stated that Wilson has been in the Air Force since April 2006 and was assigned to the 461st Aircraft Maintenance Squadron in October 2006.
