1st Armored Division’s Hogg receives first star
David R. Hogg, the 1st Armored Division’s assistant division commander for support, was promoted to brigadier general and received his first star at a ceremony last week at Wiesbaden Army Airfield, Germany.
Gen. David D. McKiernan, U.S. Army Europe commander, promoted Hogg and spoke about how his previous assignments prepared him for the assistant division commander post he’s held since August.
According to a 1st AD news release, Hogg spoke at his promotion ceremony, saying: “Promotions are not an individual event. It is based on having the privilege of working with and working for outstanding soldiers and noncommissioned officers. It’s based on the support and companionship of your peers and your fellow brothers in arms. And, it’s based on outstanding leadership and mentorship from bosses.”
