Colonels take care of colonels

Regarding the June 15 front-page article “Still a colonel: Johnson sentenced to reprimand, fine for fraud, adultery, bigamy”: So Col. James H. Johnson III is still a colonel, a disgraced man who has committed fraud against the Army, committed bigamy continues to live with a married woman, on and on — and yet he gets to keep his rank and gets no jail time?

As a former U.S. Army criminal investigator I find this deeply disgusting. The general reviewing this sentence should send this colonel directly to jail. Can you imagine if this were a sergeant or a captain? He would be locked up and all rank pulled from him.

Oh well, as the saying goes: The Army takes care of its own. Now it can be said that colonels take care of colonels.
