GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Gettysburg National Military Park will start its winter visiting hours on Friday, Nov. 1, the National Park Service has announced.
The battlefield will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and the museum and visitor center hours will remain from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily throughout the winter, according to a news release.
Summer hours, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., will resume on April 1.
Certain park roads used as thoroughfares will be open 24 hours a day to vehicular traffic throughout the winter: Buford Avenue, Doubleday Avenue, Granite Schoolhouse Road, Howard Avenue, Millerstown Road, Reynolds Avenue, Wadsworth Avenue, West Confederate Avenue, and Wheatfield Road.
Fines for closed area violations are $75, the release said.
