WIESBADEN, Germany — New field study courses are among the offerings for students enrolling for spring semester courses at University of Maryland University College Europe.

Registration is open for all Spring 2013 Session 1 courses, which begin Jan. 14, according to a UMUC news release. The full schedule of classes can be found online.

Registration ends Jan. 9 for online classes, Jan. 13 for hybrid classes and the first day of each face-to-face class, according to the release.

Field study courses offer students a chance for hands-on learning with UMUC faculty in various European cities. Some of the courses, scheduled through August, include “Renaissance Art in Florence,” “Expatriate Writers in Paris: 1920s,” “Scotland: Culture, Literature, and History.” A full listing of the field study courses is available online.

Starting on Jan. 2, $150 Book Awards are available for active duty troops and their family members, according to the release. By filling out an online application, eligible students can offset the cost of their textbooks, according to the release. Additionally, a $700 scholarship is available for students who are taking their first UMUC Europe class this spring.
