Following President Obama's speech at Camp LeJeune today outlining the future of U.S. military involvement in Iraq, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates spoke to reporters about some of the details of the plan and how much flexibility commanders will have.
Among the questions posed to him was whether U.S. troops want or need to hear the new president declare that the U.S. has "won" in Iraq. He said the drop in violence in Iraq and the "growing democratic govenment" there were positive steps to be proud of.
