Kubasaki vs. Kadena at Ryukyu Middle School, Kadena Air Base, 6 p.m. – Two teams strikingly similar in that they have quality backfields but are breaking in a few new linemen. Kubasaki is the league champion until somebody knocks them off. … Dragons 21, Panthers 18.

Friday, Aug. 30

Yokota vs. Zama at Reid Memorial Stadium, Naval Air Facility Atsugi, 7 p.m. – Panthers will be outsized by the Trojans; question of whether Yokota’s veer and power attack can outlast the Zama Wing T, something which the youthful Panthers have not seen yet. … Panthers 17, Trojans 14.

Robert D. Edgren vs. Nile C. Kinnick at Berkey Field, Yokosuka Naval Base, 7 p.m. – No question, Red Devils have the weapons to overcome the Eagles, but Kinnick better have worked on special-teams coverage this week in practice. And better not kick it to No. 4. … Red Devils 24, Eagles 10.

Guam High at George Washington
, 7 p.m. – Panthers had hoped to have one game under their belt, but got their first win without having to take the field last week. … Panthers 20, Geckos 13.

Simon Sanchez at Okkodo, 7 p.m. – Hopefully, the Sharks can take the field this week; Bulldogs looking to rebound after opening defeat. … Sharks 16, Bulldogs 9.

John F. Kennedy vs. Father Duenas Memorial
at George Washington High School, Mangilao, 7 p.m. – Islanders surprised with their opening win last week; can they keep it up against the Friars? … Islanders 14, Friars 13.
