East Asia Elite hoops squad to play in China

A group of American and international high school and college basketball players, including a Seoul American product, will head to China for a series of games against high school and possibly university competition June 20-July 1, according to the East Asia Elite team coach Luke Elie.

On the roster are five present and former Korean-American Interscholastic Activities Conference stars, including Shawn Horne of Seoul American, which won the conference's post-season tournament in February.

Elie, who formerly coached at International Christian School-Uijongbu in KAIAC's Five-Cities Division, says he'll mold his five high-school players with a collection of collegiate players from the States.

They'll play some "friendly" games against Beijing's two top high schools and at least one university team, Elie said. If they do well the first four days of the tour, they'll be allowed to play China's junior national team.
