Game's Castro mission irritates Cuba

“Call of Duty: Black Ops” has made Cuba cranky.

The Associated Press reports that the Communist nation is upset because gamers can gun down former Cuban leader Fidel Castro – sort of – in an early mission of “Black Ops.”

"What the United States couldn’t accomplish in more than 50 years, they are now trying to do virtually,” said an article posted on Cubadebate, a state-run website, according to AP.

In actuality, the main character ends up taking out a Castro double before getting caught and sent to a Soviet prison. After the Cuban escapade, set in 1961, the game progresses through a series of Cold War missions in the Soviet Union and Vietnam.

My Spanish skills are very rusty but I didn’t see any complaints on Cubadebate about the fact that the game also features Fidel teaming up to fight zombies with his nemesis President John F. Kennedy as well as Richard Nixon and Vietnam-era Defense Secretary Robert McNamara.
