Coaches’ clinic to kick off prep volleyball camp

Vilseck High School volleyball coach Brian Swenty has arranged for USA Volleyball’s director of sport development, John Kessel, to conduct a two-day clinic for coaches this weekend at Vilseck which will precede Swenty's annual A.C.E. Volleyball Camp for high school players.
Kessel, author of several books on volleyball, has been coaching at the collegiate level or above since 1971 and guided teams to U.S. Open titles in 1986 and 1987, according to his official biography. His topics at the Saturday-Sunday clinic will include drills and drill design; motor-skills development; risk management; youth-, mini- and beach volleyball training, and coaching philosophy, including an explanation of how to deal with what he calls the “competitive cauldron.” Sessions are conducted in the classroom and on the court.
Fee for the clinic is $100 or 100 Euros. For information and to register, email Swenty at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call him at German civilian. 0151-1657-2948. Commercial callers from outside Germany must drop the initial zero after dialing country code 0049.
The A.C.E. Volleyball Camp itself, in its third year, begins with Sunday registration and runs until the following Friday.
