Ansbach-ex Whaley said to be all the way back

Fans interested in the status of former Ansbach running back Dominique Whaley, who was the starting tailback for the University of Oklahoma Sooners last season until breaking an ankle in the sixth game of the season, can follow the link http://newsok.com/article/3704635?click_action=1 to learn about the 5-11, 208-pound senior’s recovery.

According to a Daily Oklahoman newspaper report at the link, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops said Whaley, who played for NAIA Langston University in Oklahoma before walking on for the Sooners and rushing for 627 yards with nine touchdowns in the six games he played, “…looks to be back to what Dom always was. That’s explosive, strong and fast."

Whaley is listed on OU’s latest depth chart as the projected starter at running back, according to soonersports.com. The Sooners, ranked as high as No. 4 nationally in preseason polls. open their 2012 campaign Saturday night at UTEP. The game is scheduled to be joined in progress by AFN-Xtra at 5 a.m. Sunday, Central European Time.
