Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan, March, 1980: USS Midway crewmember Petty Officer 2nd Class Gary Smith greets a Japanese worker beneath the ship's propellers and rudder at Yokosuka's Drydock Number Six, where the Midway was undergoing two months of painting, remodeling and refitting.
