Seoul, South Korea, September, 1960: South Korean police restrain a student protesting the visit of Japanese Foreign Minister Zentaro Kosaka, whose trip to the peninsula was the first by a high-ranking Japanese official since the end of World War II. Vestal's shot was selected as the top news photo of the year in the annual worldwide military photography contest, and contributed to his selection as Military Photographer of the Year.
