Tokyo, March, 1964: Singer Pat Boone displays a floral arrangement presented to him by fans during a press conference at the Okura Hotel. Boone — whose hits include "April Love" and "Love Letters in the Sand" — was to give 13 concerts in four cities on his first tour of Japan. "I'm sorry now that I didn't learn to speak more Japanese," he said in an interview after his arrival. "But I'm still going to try to sing a few of my numbers in my broken Japanese."
