Mainz, Germany, October 26, 1976: U.S. Army soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Co., 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry learn how to drink water while wearing protective clothing during 8th Infantry Division NBC (nuclear, biological or chemical warfare) training at Lee Barracks. Soldiers' reaction to the exercise ranged from "I think it's good. We know the Russians train a lot with gas masks" to "dumb, stupid, bull!"
