Marrakesh, Morocco, June, 1962: A drummer steadies his drums with his feet as he pounds out a tune at the Marrakesh marketplace, where "Arabs, Berbers, Jews and visitors from throughout the world mill about in colorful confusion," according to a Stars and Stripes reporter who was surveying the scene. "Acrobats, trained monkeys, boxing matches, dancers whirling rifles like batone -- the attractions are endless."
