I’ve served in both Iraq and Afghanistan with members of the U.S. armed forces, and the one thing we Brits have always admired, and indeed envied, has been the American attitude toward its servicemen and the genuine and heartfelt regard with which they are universally held.
It saddens me, as with all, to see the return of the fallen at Dover Air Force Base, Del. While I appreciate that all have their own methodology and systems, I feel moved to critique upon the images presented in the media:
I sincerely hope that you never have to repeat this sad and tragic act; but, if and when you do, I urge with the utmost respect that you consider the above points and pass them on to the relevant authorities.
