Policy changes can hurt Army

I do not agree with the Army changing its uniform policy for a soldier based on that person’s religion (“Army waives its uniform policy for Sikh physician,” article, Oct. 25).

If a person cannot follow uniform policies for one reason or another, he should not join.

The Army has always been the great equalizer; everyone should be the same as far as dress is concerned.

The uniform policy does not change a person’s personality. If the Army starts making exceptions for soldiers’ preferences, it deconstructs the uniformity that makes this Army strong.

All it takes is one person wanting things to change for him, then it all just spirals out of control from there.
