Regarding "The danger of dithering on foreign policy" (Opinion, John R. Bolton, Oct. 21): American history is wrought with very bright, high-level advisers telling our president to hurry war for fear that the United States will appear weak.
Our strength as a nation is not in our military might, but the restraint we show in the face of complex, volatile problems. This restraint is the basis of our power.
Take your time, Mr. President, but please get it right.
