U.S. and Indian soldiers have been training together this month in India during Exercise Yudh Abhyas, an annual battalion-level exercise with a focus on peacekeeping operations.
Participants are from the Indian army’s 7th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, 94th Armored Brigade, 31st Armored Division and the U.S. Army’s 2nd Squadron, 14th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division from Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
The armies exchanged knowledge of tactics, techniques and procedures, and tried out each other’s weapons and vehicles.
The Americans were also treated to a feast in honor of Diwali, the Indian festival of lights.
Yudh Abhyas 09 began Oct. 12 and is scheduled to end Thursday.
