FRANKFURT, Sept. 20 — Ann Sheridan arrived in Frankfurt today wearing the only clothes she was permitted to carry out of France.

The film star explained she had lost everything she owned, at least temporarily, at the French customs border at Kiel while she slept on the train.

Cary Grant, who is to co-star with Miss Sheridan in "I Was a Male War Bride," is expected to arrive in Frankfurt tomorrow. He is driving from France.

"I didn't buy anything in France but a negligee during my two-week stay," Miss Sheridan said, "and I didn't bring even that with me to Germany."

The titian-haired actress did not, however, complain against the French border police confiscation of her baggage. She simply stated she hoped the whole matter would be straightened out "or I'll be practically forced to go naked." She said she had nine bags and now she has only one.

Miss Sheridan said the picture "I Was a Male War Bride" will be shot "in various locations throughout Germany." She said she expected to see more of Germany than the average GI, as each day the movie will be shot on a different scene.

Asked what impression she had of Germany, Miss Sheridan said she had as yet seen too little of the country to make an intelligent comment. However, she observed the country was pretty much as she presumed it would be after seeing pictures and reading news accounts of it after the war.

The actress declared she hoped to "see a lot of GIs, but I have no show and will simply meet the men if they want to see me." She said she would visit service clubs "as the shooting schedule allows, and will talk to the men if they went to talk to me."

Miss Sheridan said she didn't sing or have an act rehearsed. "I am here to work on the picture and naturally, while I would love to see the GIs, I will have to work my personal appearances into the shooting schedule."
