DOD announces key Europe, CENTCOM command postings

The Pentagon has announced the latest crop of key postings in and out of
Europe and the Central Command area of responsibility. They include:
Central Command:
- Maj. Gen. John D. Gardner, commander of United States Army South, to
Deputy Commanding General (Detainee Operations)/Commanding General, Task Force
134, Multi-National Force-Iraq.
- Maj. Gen. Rick Lynch, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations/Commander,
Allied Joint Force Command-Naples Deployable Joint Task Force, NATO Response
Force, Italy, to Deputy Chief of Staff, Political/Military/Economics,
Multi-National Force-Iraq.
- Maj. Gen. Joseph F. Peterson, Vice Director for Operations, the Joint
Staff, Washington, to Commanding General, Civilian Police Assistance Training
Team, Multi-National Security Transition Command-Iraq.
- Brig. Gen. Nolen V. Bivens, Assistant Division Commander (Maneuver), 4th
Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Hood, Texas, to Assistant Chief of Staff,
Coalition Forces Land Component Command, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
- Brig. Gen. James M. Milano, Assistant Chief of Staff, Coalition Forces
Land Component Command, Camp Arifjan, Kuwait to Director of Training, Office
of the Deputy Chief of Staff, United States Army, Washington.
Europe:
- Brig. Gen. Joseph E. Orr, deputy commanding general, 7th Infantry Division
and Fort Carson, Fort Carson, Colo., to chief of staff, KFOR (Main), Pristina,
Kosovo.
- Brig. Gen. Peter J. Palmer, director, Strategic Operations Branch,
Multi-National Force-Iraq to assistant division commander, 1st Infantry
Division, Germany.
- Brig. Gen. Louis W. Weber, director of training, office of the deputy
chief of staff, United States Army, Washington, to commander/senior military
representative, NATO Military Committee, Sarajevo.
- Brig. Gen. Scott G. West, commanding general, United States Army
Quartermaster Center and School/Deputy Commanding Gen., Fort Lee at Fort Lee,
