FRANKFURT (S&S) US. Atty. Gen. Robert F. Kennedy's schedule calls for him to open bin three-day tour in West Germany and Berlin with a visit to V Corps troops in the field Thursday.
Early Thursday, Kennedy and Lt Gen Creighton W. Abrams, V Corps CG, will see a firing demonstration by tankers of the 3rd Armd Div in the Friedberg training area, north of Frankfurt.
After the range shoot, troops of V Corp's Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol were to make a parachute drop and go through a forward area scouting mission for the attorney general and Abrams, also a native of Massachusetts.
Following the USAREUR display, Kennedy is to fly by helicopter to Bonn for courtesy calls on West German President Heinrich Luebke and Chancellor Ludwig Erhard and to attend a luncheon for the U.S. Cabinet member given by Gerhard Schroeder, German foreign minister.
Kennedy also will meet with the German committee for the John F. Kennedy Memorial Library, headed by Dr. Kurt Irrenbach, at the residence of George H. McGhee, U.S. ambassador to West Germany.
Joining the attorney general in Bonn will be his wife, Mrs. Ethel Kennedy who arrives from Rome with three of their seven children Kathleen, 12; Joseph, 10, and Robert F. Jr., 2.
They will fly to West Berlin Friday morning for a day-long program of events and ceremonies on the anniversary of the late President John F. Kennedy's 1963 visit to the divided city.
The 38-year-old attorney general will unveil a memorial plaque honoring his brother on John F. Kennedy Square, on which West Berlin's City Ball fronts.
Later, he will visit a German school and a West Berlin factory, then tour the American military housing area, with a stop at a Berlin Brigade tank company.
Kennedy also will speak to students at the Free University, and will attend an evening reception given by West Berlin Lord Mayor Willy Brandt.
On Saturday, the Kennedy party will arrive at Rhine-Main Air Base from Berlin aboard an Air Force plane, transferring to USAREUR helicopters for a flight to Heidelberg's Army airfield.
Kennedy will be met by Heidelberg Mayor Robert Weber and will give a talk to Heidelberg University students shortly before noon.
Following the address the U.S. official will hold a 30-to-45-minute question and answer session with the university students.
Kennedy will close his West German visit with a motorcade tour of USAREUR's Patrick. Henry Village housing area, just off the autobahn south of Heidelberg
Returning to Rhine-Main, present plans call for the Kennedy party to fly to Poland, then to London.
